Recommendation and Review

The Rocktown Turkey Trot is organized by VA Momentum and is planned for 11/26/20 from 8am-10am in downtown Harrisonburg. This would be the 7th year of the event, which features a kids’ dash and 4-mile run through the streets of downtown on Thanksgiving morning. Proceeds from the run benefit Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.

 

This event utilizes a modified, pre-approved route included in the special event application. It is the same course approved for the 2019 Turkey Trot.

 

This application was reviewed and approved by the Special Events Committee on 02/27/20.

 

The total cost of the event is estimated between $3,455-3,600. The organizer is responsible for payments made to HPD off-duty officers and for payments towards services rendered by Public Works or third-party contractors.
