Recommendation and Review
Virginia Momentum is requesting the partial closure of E Washington St. between Main St. and Northfield Ct. on Sunday, February 23rd from 9am-11am for the Sunday Funday 1k. The event is a community run for all skill levels and starts and finishes at Brothers Craft Brewing. Course distance is 1k (.62 miles) and utilizes a pre-approved route included on the Special Event Application.
The event organizer has contacted businesses and churches located along the race route.
HPD, PW, and HFD have reviewed and approved the event plan. HDPT routes are not impacted by the proposed closure, as the event takes place on a Sunday.
This application was reviewed and approved by the Special Events Committee on 12/05/19.
The Sunday Funday 1k is estimated to cost $240. Event organizers will be responsible for payments made to off-duty HPD officers.
