Recommendation and Review
The NYE Glow Run, organized by VA Momentum, is planned for 12/31/19 from 5pm-7pm in downtown Harrisonburg and on JMU’s campus. This would be the 18th year of the event, which features a New Year’s Eve 5k charity run produced in partnership with Generations Crossing.
The event organizer is requesting the closure of Chesapeake Ave, a portion of Grace St., and sections of JMU’s campus. The organizers coordinate with Mongers and JMU Police each year. 700 participants and spectators are expected.
This application was reviewed and approved by the Special Events Committee on 02/07/19.
The total cost of the event is estimated between $380-540. The organizer is responsible for applicable payments made to HPD off-duty officers.
