Recommendation and Review
The Youth Try-Athlon is organized by Harrisonburg Parks and Recreation and is planned for 8/10/19 from 8:30am-11am at Westover Park and in the Sunset Heights neighborhood. This would be the 7th year of the Youth Try-Athlon, an event that is open to ages 5-17 and gives participants an introduction to triathlons. 80-100 participants are expected.
This application was reviewed and approved by the Special Events Committee on 01/23/19.
The total cost of the event is estimated at $612. As a City event, the organizer is not responsible for payments to HPD officers.

-HPR support (production/site management of event)
-PW support (message boards, barricades)
-HPD support (6 off-duty officers)
-HPR is covered under City insurance
