Recommendation and Review

The Harrisonburg Redevelopment and Housing Authority (HRHA) requests that City Council adopt a resolution authorizing and approving the purchase and renovation of property located at 227 N Main Street, currently known as Glen’s Fair Price, into a mixed-use development containing residential and commercial space. Under Virginia Code §§ 36-19 and 36-19.2, housing authorities must receive authorization from their locality’s governing body before undertaking new housing development projects.

 

At the November 12, 2025 City Council meeting Council tabled this item to November 25, 2025 so that the applicant can provide a concept plan of the project.
