Recommendation and Review
The Department of Public Works held a Design Public Hearing for this project on October 15, 2015 at Pleasant Valley Elementary School to receive public comment. The Design Public Hearing was conducting in accordance with VDOT’s Public Involvement Manual and properly advertised in the Daily News-Record. A total of six (6)6 Citizens attended the Design Public Hearing and five (5) comments were received by Public Works. Comments were supportive of the improvements, but focused on the planned detour and its impacts. There weren’t any significant design changes proposed as a result of the public hearing. Council is asked to adopt the alignment by Resolution. Right of way and easement negotiations and acquisitions can begin following adoption.
