The Harrisonburg Community Connectors team hired a experienced historians Ann Pfau, David Hochfelder, and Stacy Sewell to conduct historical research that will strengthen understanding and historical documentation of Urban Renewal in the City of Harrisonburg. The aim of the research was to expand on and better consolidate documentation of the impacts on the residents and business owners who were displaced from their homes and businesses by Urban Renewal. The researchers will present their findings to City Council in an effort to further contribute to public knowledge and discourse on the impact of and harms caused by Urban Renewal.
