Recommendation and Review

The Department of Public Works held a Design Public Hearing for this project on May 13, 2015 at Park View Mennonite Church to receive public comment.  The Design Public Hearing was conducting in accordance with VDOT’s Public Involvement Manual and properly advertised in the Daily News Record.  A total of 48 Citizens attending the Design Public Hearing and 12 comments were received by Public Works.  Comments were generally supportive, with the noted items addressed in the attached memo.  There are no design changes proposed as a result of the Public Hearing.  Council is asked to adopt the alignment by Resolution.  Right of way and easement negotiations and acquisitions can begin following adoption.  Construction is not anticipated until at least 2018, as additional funding for the completion of the Right of Way phase, and Construction phase is still needed.
