Recommendation and Review
The Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development annually distributes funds through the Industrial Revitalization Fund (IRF) program. The IRF leverages local and private resources to achieve market-driven redevelopment of commercial properties. The program is targeted toward vacant, non-residential structures. Economic Development is working with Harrisonburg-Rockingham Child Day Care Center (HRCDCC) to submit a grant application. As part of the application package, City Council is requested to approve a resolution supporting the proposal and authorizing the city manager to sign and submit appropriate IRF documents on behalf of the city.
