Recommendation and Review

The State of Virginia recently approved a final FY 2024 budget. This final budget approval provided $4,859,432 in additional funding for HCPS. The memorandum attached to this agenda item from the HCPS Chief Financial Officer provides further detailed information as to the request from HCPS. As part of this supplemental appropriation, HCPS proposes reducing the local transfer from the city by $553,872 as the increase in state funding will fund various support positions. This request will then reduce the budget for the General Fund.
