Recommendation and Review

As directed by City Council, staff established a process for disposition of city-owned parcels deemed ‘surplus’ and considered potentially suitable for residential uses. Following an open application process for five listed sites, contracts are being drafted for consideration from Council. Frank Gordon, Trustee of the Valley Housing Trust, proposed to purchase 2410 Reservoir Street at a below-assessment price in exchange for the creation of five housing units with long-term income and rent restrictions. The sale is conditioned upon successful applications for land use approvals and public affordable housing funds from the state.
